Independence
On June 12 1898, the Philippine Islands went their own way
After the United States defeated the Spanish in the Battle of Manila Bay.
General Emilio Aguinaldo proclaimed the sovereignty and independence of the Philippine Islands from the colonial rule of Spain.
To this day the nation and It's freedom and the proud people still remains.
The flag made by Marcela Agoncillo, Lorenza Agoncillo, and Delfina Herboza still flys high today.
So as you hear the "Lupang Hinirang" played each day
remember the ones that gave their lives away.
The brave men and women that set your country free
that now allows your flag to fly high for all to see.
So as your celebration of this Independence day makes your heart lift.
Remember to have Freedom... Is one of Gods greatest gifts.
